Warming Up with Kohl’s and Alicia Archer of mindbodygreen

As the destination for Active & Wellness, Kohl’s partners with top fitness experts to help customers Find their Balance this year

Kohl’s has partnered with top fitness experts and wellness brands to inspire customers to live their best lives and continue (or even start!) their wellness journeys. This year, our Active & Wellness ambassadors will be bringing you their favorite tips, tricks and product picks for a healthy, balanced lifestyle—covering everything from fitness and food to beauty and beyond!

To start the year off on the right foot, fitness expert Alicia Archer shares with us the importance of warming up. Alicia learned about this the hard way after a neck and upper back injury this past December—a result of not stretching or using the right products before her workouts.

On a mission to improve her warm-up routine and prevent future injuries, Alicia looked to Kohl’s wide variety of Active & Wellness products and brands. “Kohl’s has a great selection of apparel, shoes, and tools that are essential for physical and mental preparation. They've become my go-to for all of my wellness needs,” Alicia shared on mindbodygreen.com. “And now especially after my injury, I know how important it is to have not only the right mindset but the right gear as well.”

See below for a few of Alicia’s favorite pieces for a proper warm-up.

Women's Tek Gear® Cross Back Long Sleeve Tee

“I prefer layering my clothes to create more heat to help my body open up. Kohl’s has a wide range of brands I can mix and match. I like layering my Tek Gear Long Sleeve Tee over my FILA SPORT Racerback—both pieces are moisture-wicking and provide extra warmth!”

New Balance 311 Classic Women's Sneakers

“Comfortable sneakers that provide grip and support without being too heavy are also essential for ease of movement; that’s why I rely on my New Balance sneakers when warming up.”

Gaiam Restore 12-in. Foam Roller

“One of my favorite ways of warming up is combining myofascial release methods with physical therapy work. I use the Gaiam Restore 12-inch Foam Roller to apply just enough pressure to get my muscles moving and then follow up with some rehab work using my P90X resistance bands.”
